Mourning Wings

December 13, 2012

Rust cage door grinds against midnight

Lover’s secret wishes wait

Deafening silence solitude condemns

My cellmate, stalemate, soul mate

Dreams brushed between wintry shadows ascend

Angels swing wide heaven’s gate

Mourning wings spread in still moonlight

    Beautiful, simply beautiful, George.

interesting, George, for it should read a negative, but everything points up convincing me that this is not the end but a begin…even the title plays with both sides in my mind ~

Indeed Angela, it evolved from opposing sides, too, with the inextricable interplay between ending and beginning. Sometimes the struggle that pulls one to and fro resolves, or can only be resolved, in a way unexpected or even undesired.

Partly letting go of “something” (how we land in a situation is not as important as what happens once we’re in it) and partly finding fulfillment or completion (omega) only in transcendence…metaphorically seeing life in death.

I like this. I am reminded of why I don’t believe in keeping birds, nor the clipping of wings…..

Piercingly beautiful – an oscillation of raw emotions of conflict and resolution. The imagery is charming as is the entire piece! Almost feels a silent rebirth – against all odds. Love it George! (But, I love all your writings!). Happy New Year, my dear friend. Cheers.

That’s a great description, Shaheen! Especially like the idea of the silent rebirth. Thanks and Happy New Year! Cheers!
