Somebody Tell Me

April 3, 2012

quietly sinking drifting away
life pouring out from yesterday
looking through my glass I can’t see
what’s wrong with me oh no, no

somebody tell me I need to know
   where does love go
   when hearts turn to stone
somebody help me I bleed hollow
   come make me whole
   more than flesh and bone
somebody love me awaken my soul
   don’t let me die alone
   oh, no, no, no, no

blown out of time drowning in space
blindly I surge reeling for grace
kissing my bottle I drink deep
the raging sea oh no, no

somebody tell me I need to know
   where does love go
   when hearts turn to stone
somebody help me I bleed hollow
   come make me whole
   more than flesh and bone
somebody love me awaken my soul
   don’t let me die alone
   oh, no, no, no, no

ah, you
I am dying to love forever
veiled figures pass by
stop and sigh
wondering why
you are not alone
my queen in gold
you are not alone
calling me home
now is the time
can I make it
don’t give up hope
hope is all I have

break the glass surface breathe indeed
sky above me oh

somebody tell me I need to know
   where does love go
   when hearts turn to stone
somebody help me I bleed hollow
   come make me whole
   more than flesh and bone
somebody love me awaken my soul
   don’t let me die alone
   oh, no, no, no, no

Are you sure your not already a famous song writer? Because you can sure write beautiful songs, George. I really look forward to the day when I can hear this one and all the others too.
Have a wonderful day and evening, George!
    Hugs, xx

You’re too kind, Deb! One never knows how a song (or other artwork) will turn out but this is one of my favorites to perform. In fact, I consider the bridge to be one of the most inspired musical sequences that I’ve written in a song to date. I need to record this sooner than later!

Have a great day and evening, too!

      Cheers,
      George

Thanks, Soma! I’m delighted that you like these songs and I certainly appreciate your kindness. Makes me want to write more!

Lyrics from the first album are posted under Sanctuary but the tunes are actually posted on my bandpage: http://listn.to/VerticalLeap

I’ll look at adding them to the music samples widget.

      Cheers!

Well, if you ever visit Toronto – we must “jam” on this song – my acoustic guitar and your song! But…you are blessed with abundance of talent and a creative soul. Thumbs up, my friend. Cheers.
